Klopp’s impending departure and the uncertainty over who will take over could lead to Thiago taking his future into his own hands. The Liverpool head coach had been excited about the experienced star’s return to action, but will now reportedly miss him for a prolonged period.
“Thiago trained [fully for the] first time, which was an incredible moment,” Klopp said last week. “After all the months he couldn’t, and then trains at the level he trains…[wow]. But he needs time. Anyway, a wonderful, wonderful sign.”
Liverpool’s injury problems have mounted in recent weeks. Thiago is set to return to a treatment room also occupied by Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah. Both players have hamstring issues.
