NY Jets Super Bowl 58 Odds Surge After Aaron Rodgers Meeting

After the news broke that a New York Jets contingent was meeting with Aaron Rodgers, NFL bettors quickly went to the betting window. Sportsbooks saw a surge in bets coming on the New York Jets winning Super Bowl 58.

Team owner Woody Johnson, general manager Joe Douglas, head coach Robert Saleh, and offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett were all believed to be in on the meeting to lure Rodgers to New York.

According to Max Meyer of Caesars Sports, 220 Super Bowl bets were placed on the Jets on March 7, 2023, six of which were $1000. It was reported that every other team combined attracted only 71 total bets on the 2024 Super Bowl (2023 NFL regular season).

Meyer also reports that the Jets attracted more money just yesterday to win Super Bowl 58 than 16 other teams have all off-season. This includes multiple playoff teams such as the cross-town rival New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings.

David Payne Purdum, who is a gambling reporter for ESPN, is reporting that more money has been wagered on the New York Jets than any other team in the NFL to win Super Bowl 58, at DraftKings Sportsbook.

This has resulted in the odds shifting from around +2500 to close to +1800.

The NFL betting public certainly likes what the Jets can accomplish with Aaron Rodgers under center. Despite only winning seven games in 2022, New York showed flashes of being a competitive team for years to come.

New York’s offense is littered with young talent. Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, and Alijah Vera-Tucker lead the way as young stars which should be very intriguing to Rodgers. Adding in complementary pieces like Elijah Moore, Tyler Conklin, and Michael Carter, Rodgers will have a lot of fire-power to work with in New York.

The Jets’ defense last year ranked at the top of the league in multiple categories. They ranked fourth in yards per game, third in passing yards per game, and fourth in points per game allowed. With young stars like Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams, the Jets’ defense should be very good again in 2023.

If the Jets have another successful free agency and draft, they could make significant progress with a quarterback like Aaron Rodgers. Hopefully, these bettors cash in and the Jets are the NFL’s last standing in February 2024.

bet365 Sportsbook Super Bowl 58 Odds

As of Friday, March 10, 2023, the very same date Massachusetts sports betting launched, the New York Jets are currently +1600 to win Super Bowl 58 at bet365 Sportsbook (ranking them seventh of all 32 NFL teams).

At the top of the list are the reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs at +550. The Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cincinnati Bengals round out the top five.
